Continual deliverance & blessings

Continual deliverance & blessings

 2Sa 6:11  And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household. 2Sa 6:12  And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

There is something to be said about continuity in God which can be like the willow of the wisp at times. It is there and then it is not. Children of God find it hard to understand how to maintain the presence of God as a habitation rather than a visitation. Are they to be blamed for this? I think so. Apostle Paul puts it this way. 1Co_6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? You can see from this question that is posed, we lack knowledge of the presence of God in our bodies.  God does not occupy temples made with hands but only occupies places that are cleansed and kept clean, otherwise, He leaves. 1Sa_4:21  And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband. The glory had left the inner most sanctum of God’s temple because of the sins of High Priest Eli and his two sons.

All things new

Rev_21:5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

In a scene from the movie, Passion of the Christ, Jesus stumbles and falls while carrying the cross. His mother runs to Him in deep anguish to help Him. He turns to her with a whisper of a smile on His face and says; “Behold, I make all things new”. It was this scene that opened my eyes to God’s re-creation of all things through the cross. The new order now is what follows the cross and not what was before the cross. It is necessary that we understand this; otherwise, we will remain in our sins not having accepted the cross and crucifixion as God’s gateway to re-creation.

Building a foundation in your life

Mar 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mar 9:24  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mar 9:25  When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Mar 9:26  And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. Mar 9:27  But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. Mar 9:28  And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? Mar 9:29  And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Renewing your mind

2Co 10:4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 2Co 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Imagine the mind to be a very long passenger train of which you are the train driver. Each compartment of the train (TRAIN OF THOUGHT/S) are holding cells for millions of thoughts, like passengers constantly getting on and off at different stations. The journey of our life is full of stops and starts (stations) at different stages and events that take place in our lives. The journey of this life begins when you are born and does not stop till your dead physically. In this journey of life, we can’t get on and off by ourselves but passengers (thoughts) do. What gets on and off depends on where the train takes you in life. Sometimes, the train tracks get derailed or blocked by events and by the devil. This causes more thoughts and imaginations to get into our minds that can change the course of our lives. At all times, both good and bad thoughts get on and off but allowing them in or out is within our control. This essentially is the power (our will) to change and renew our minds.

Prayer- The Final Frontier

Mat 26:39  And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

There is an interesting play on the word “Prayer”. It denotes both, the form of communication required to God and the person who is the “Prayer”. In the above verse, we see Jesus the Son of Man possibly prostrate on the ground before His Father praying to conquer the final frontier; death. This moment would decide whether all that Jesus had come to the earth for, could be achieved. The miracles, signs and wonders, the teaching He brought and the hope He gave people was now dependant on His own willingness to go the final step; which was, to accept the will of His Father in heaven. If He did not go to the cross, all this would have been in vain.

Inspired

 2Ti 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Pe 1:21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

I have often wondered about the way scripture has been written to form the Bible. Though the Bible does not contain all scripture, it contains enough to bring us what we need by way of the truth. The wonderment therefore is always about how when scripture is interpreted correctly and applied, it brings about the desired result. If interpreted wrongly, it produces disaster in the lives of people. This begs the question as to its veracity (conformity to facts; accuracy - habitual truthfulness).

Since all scripture is given by inspiration sent by God, it is safe to receive it as the truth which is then easily applied through faith to produce results. Herein poses the problem for all of us. We have to receive it as it is intentionally written before it can produce any results. This is where many struggle with the meaning of scriptures and their application to daily life. Can God change its meaning to suit time and person? This is very possible as it is the unfolding revelation of God through time rather than it being static like the Jews made it out to be. This state of being static resulted in their legalistic approach to God’s word. The revelation that follows time and person is seen in what Apostle Paul has to say about it.

 The Judgements of God

2Pe 2:4  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

2Pe 2:5  And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2Pe 2:6  And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly 2Pe 2:9  The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Hardly a day goes by without some disaster being reported on earth somewhere. In fact, many disasters happen so frequently while increasingly in number each day that, we have to conclude that the world is out of order. We as Christians conclude that the reasons behind such disasters arise from our understanding that humans are provoking God and affecting His sensitivity. Yes, God is sensitive about certain issues. Therefore, He decrees judgements that are carried out in one form or another. Besides this, humans judge and decree certain things to happen between themselves which in turn causes God to judge matters. These judgements are coming from choosing wrongly. This two fold nature of God’s judgements are hardly noticed by the majority of people on earth because they are insensitive to God and His feelings.

Arks of Covenant

Heb 11:7  By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

The word ark has two applications in the Bible that are significant. The first is the ark that God asked Noah to build in order to save his family. The second is the Ark of the Covenant that confirms the covenant between God and His people to save them. Both arks are significant in our reasoning because they represent covenant. Both covenants carry the blood as a sign of God’s purpose for the redemption of man. Both carry with them the grace of God in preserving His people alive even though sin abounds. Both represent the mercy of God.

 Be true to your calling

1Pe_2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

The light that ensues from God is the playing field of the person that is called. 1Jn_1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Darkness on the other hand, is the playing field of the devil. The two cannot mix and light is superior to darkness. In order for your calling to be light, you must be rid of darkness. That is, darkness of the mind, soul and spirit. Because you are chosen and called, faithfulness to the call is imperative in handling the call while remaining in the midst of darkness on earth. Darkness will increase upon the earth but so must light, within ourselves though it does not like it.

The Pride of Ministry

Mat 10:24  The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. Mat 10:25  It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Who is Lord and who is Master? They are one and the same in Jesus but as an extension as the gifts to the Church that Jesus has given, they are also those who are above you in ministry and life. These people are placed there for a reason, to function in their capacity as ones who themselves are submitted to their Lord and Master. They hold no office of their own power but as it is given to them. Therefore, in conducting their ministry they must be ready to take on the humility of ministry rather than the pride of ministry.
